Stage 4: After Approval

How to Track Your TIE Card Status in Spain — Step-by-Step Guide 2026

After your fingerprinting appointment, you receive a document containing your card's reference number — a line reading "lote 2025/… № …". Your TIE (Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero, Spain's foreigner identity card) typically takes 30–45 days to be produced. This guide explains how to check its production status through the official government portal and how to book your collection appointment.

📄

After your fingerprinting appointment, find the line "lote 2025/… № …" in your paperwork — this is your lote (batch reference number), and it is how you track your card's production status.

Method 1: Official Government Portal

  1. Open the QR code on your fingerprinting receipt, or go directly to:
    icp.administracionelectronica.gob.es
Fingerprinting receipt showing the lote reference number
Find the lote (batch reference number) line in your fingerprinting receipt
  2. On the first screen, select your city of submission and click "Aceptar".
  3. On the second screen, select your police office, then scroll down and choose the option related to tarjeta (card) collection:
Selecting the police office and tarjeta collection option on the tracking portal
Select your office, then choose the tarjeta (card) collection option
  4. Click "Aceptar" — you will be redirected to the tracking page, which lists the lote numbers of cards currently ready for collection:

Compare your lote number against the list of ready cards on the site
💡

Cards are produced in sequential order. For example, if your number is 426 and the highest number shown on the site is 415, your card is not yet ready. Check back every few days.

Method 2: Third-Party Service

For an additional check, you can use an unofficial but practical third-party service:

form24.es/ru/lote/select

Select your city and police station to see the same list of cards ready for collection.
